Help me with learning English phrase?
The below I have hard time understanding the meanings.
Please help me with any one of these questions!!
①this one seems to be out of the same mould as other movies.
Is this mean “this movie” has the same thing as “other movies”?
②Even we’d been discussing something technical, we’d gravitate to the horse.
They are talking about movie(horse racing movie) making,
and I don’t get what “gravitate to” means here.
③You did this amazing thing with this father/son story and the father/daughter story, I think it really does play across the board.
What does “play across the board” mean?
to be of the same mould means, to be made in the same format, simply to be made in the same way as the other movies.
To gravitate is to head in a direction. Simply that they allways ended up heading toward the horse discussion.
To play across the board means to touch on all or many subjects. Simply that the story described had all the subjects from on extreme to the other.
gravitate play across the board
